Tonight we celebrate the album release for “Hand Of Gifts.”—a journey of rhythm, gratitude, and storytelling by drummer & composer Domo Branch
Tonight Domo Branch brings a quartet performing live at the Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center (aka Portland’s home for Black arts & culture).
Domo Branch - Drums
Charlie Brown III - Piano
Noah Simpson - Trumpet
Garrett Baxter - Double Bass
This marks the sixteenth release on AMT's record label and our second with Domo Branch. The album features a stellar cast of NYC-based musicians, with a timeless affectation that pits the listener somewhere between the 1960s post-bop era and today.
As a youth coming up through Mel Brown's Jazz Camp as well as Thara Memory's American Music Program, Domo has dedicated multiple tracks on the record as an homage to his mentors in Albina—even as he's ascended through the Manhattan School of Music and onto global stages with Wynton Marsalis, Jazz At Lincoln Center, and beyond.
This event is all ages with sliding scale donation of $10-$25.
