Join us for Watzek Library’s 25th annual Johannah Sherrer Memorial Lecture to hear about Albina’s historic music scene, and explore the ensuing Albina Community Archive, which preserves this legacy.  

The event will include a screening of the film “Portlanders:  Preserving Black History with Albina Music Trust” and a panel discussion with musician elders Paul Knauls, Sr. and Norman Sylvester, and the executive director of AMT, Bobby Smith.  

A reception following the event will feature kiosks available for accessing audio and visual materials in the AMT archives, with assistance from AMT docents.
